Happy Global Beatles Day!  It’s on June 25th, because they did a BBC show called “Our World” on June 25th, 1967.

They were already huge by then.  But it was the very first multinational satellite production broadcast live all across the world.  So it was a big deal.

400 million people on five continents watched them perform “All You Need Is Love” two weeks before they officially released it.

John Lennon wrote it specifically for the broadcast.  He kept the chorus simple, so even people who didn’t speak great English would get the message.
