Colin Jost suffers infection… Snoop Dogg gets $500,000 a day… Adele performs ‘Chasing Pavements’… Nelly was arrested… and Taylor Swift shows in Vienna canceled over alleged planned terrorist attack

Colin Jost is packing up and heading home. He’s been in Tahiti covering the Olympic surfing competitions, but Dateline says he suffered too many injuries to continue. NBC has hired Australian weatherman Luke Bradnam to take over, since he was already in French Polynesia covering the Games anyway. Colin is a passionate surfer, and he injured his foot pretty severely when he stepped on a coral reef. Unfortunately, his wounds just weren’t healing properly and he developed an infection which just wasn’t getting better. On top of that, Colin developed an ear infection, which was apparently the final straw.

Snoop Dogg has been popping up all over Paris for the Olympics, and yes, NBC is paying him to be there. But how much?? NY-based venture capitalist Henry L. McNamara posted on X, “Sat next to an NBC exec at dinner, he said Snoop gets paid $500-thousand a day plus expenses to be here promoting Olympics. From ‘Gin and Juice’ to a few million to be a celebrity at the Olympics – what a world.”

Adele is in the middle of a 10-night residency in Munich, where she’s performing some of her biggest hits like Hello, Easy on Me, and Set Fire to the Rain……One song she hasn’t performed in 7 years is her 2008 classic Chasing Pavements. For whatever reason, Adele decided to sing it one last time in Munich. She told the audience, “The reason I don’t sing this song very often, and I shan’t sing it again after this Munich residency, is because the way I pronounced the words in this song when I was 19 years old, I sound like I’m 19 years old. When I sing it now, I still sound 19 years old and it annoys me. But I’m going to do it for you because I love you, and I’m only going to do it if you do it with me.”

Nelly had been gambling into the wee hours at a casino in Maryland Heights, Missouri, and just wanted to cash out his winnings and go home. But a member of the highway patrol reportedly told Nelly that because he’d won so much money, he needed to do a background check on him. Nelly told him he didn’t think that was true because he’d won bigger jackpots in the past and nobody ever did a background check. Well, the officer did it anyway and discovered that Nelly had an outstanding warrant for having no proof of insurance, and then decided to search Nelly’s car where he discovered some ecstasy pills. That’s when Nelly was hauled off to jail to get his mug shot taken and then was released. Nelly’s lawyer is ticked off about all this, saying his client “was targeted by an overzealous, out of line officer.” He said, the Nelly “was not charged with drug possession. He was arrested for ‘No Proof of Insurance’ from 2018 on a warrant issued December 2023 that he received no notice.” He continued, “After winning several jackpots, at a venue where (Nelly) frequently visits and entertains at its amphitheater; instead of just supervising the transfer of Mr. Haynes’ winnings, this officer felt compelled to needlessly run a check for warrants…Once (Nelly) was informed of the warrant for a No Proof of Insurance infraction, this officer felt compelled to handcuff (Nelly) behind his back and parade him through the casino in front of other patrons. This officer then conducted a search without probable cause where he claimed to have found alleged ‘ecstasy’ in (Nelly’s) personal property.” He concluded, “I am 100 percent confident this case will go nowhere. And we will be asking for an inquiry into this officer’s conduct.”

Taylor Swift’s three shows in Vienna, Austria, were canceled after a terrorist plot was uncovered. Two young men — ages 19 and 17 — have been arrested, and a 15-year-old was being questioned. According to the Austrian press, the teens had been “radicalized on the internet” and sworn their allegiance to ISIS. Authorities discovered bomb-making materials in the 19-year-old’s home, where he lives with his parents. A couple weeks ago, he quit his job, telling everyone he had “big plans,” and the 17-year-old had recently broken up with his girlfriend. According to the Austrian media, their plan included driving a car into groups of fans gathered outside the concert venue, then jump out and start killing people with machetes and knives. In their final act of terror, they planned to detonate bombs attached to their bodies. Reportedly, they’d already filmed a video taking responsibility for the attack, which thankfully never took place.
