Matt Damon negotiating another “The Bourne Identity”… One Direction’s Liam Payne’s injury… Problems with U2’s new album… Nicki Minaj’s tweet… and Robin Thicke admits to being high
According to Deadline, Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass are negotiating a deal with Universal Pictures to reunite for their third film in “The Bourne Identity” series! No comment from the movie studio or anybody’s reps. This is a really big deal because last year, Greengrass told Deadline that there was no where else for the character to go creatively. But I guess this means they’ve come up with something! If all falls into place, Deadline says the movie would go into production and be ready to hit theaters in July 2016.
Somebody posted a picture yesterday of One Direction’s Liam Payne in a jacuzzi with a bunch of other guys, but the only thing people seemed to notice was the cast on Liam’s arm. Fans started guessing what Liam had done to injure himself and soon #LiamBrokeHisArmOnHisAnaconda started trending on Twitter. But no, his rep says it was nothing more than an injury Liam suffered while working out with weights.
If you have an iTunes account, U2’s new album “Songs of Innocence” was added to your music library whether you wanted it or not. Even though it was completely free, a lot of people had a problem with it and took to Twitter to vent. Among the more famous venters were @DaveNavarro who tweeted, “They are seriously running ‘ads’ for the new U2 album!? Are they suggesting we have a choice?” And @TJR wrote, “how do you delete the stupid U2 album from your iphone? or do I just throw it away and get a flip phone?” Sharon Osbourne tweeted, “U2 you are business moguls not musicians anymore. No wonder you have to give your mediocre music away for free cause no one wants to buy it.” Oh, but she continued! “Guys nothing is for free, how much you making? PS, btw you are just a bunch of middle age political groupies. Whose political ass are we going to pull you out of today? Or are you front row at another tragic fashion show?” Ouch.

Nicki Minaj tweeted the other day, “I wanted to go back to my HS and speak to the students but the new principal declined. No need for me to inspire them, I guess. Smh.” Of course, the students at Laguardia High were beyond upset and went to the principal, who was more than happy to explain what happened. It turns out that Nicki wanted to bring a huge camera crew with her so the whole thing could be filmed for an MTV special. It’s against the district’s policy to have disruptions like this happen during the school week, so they offered to have Nicki and her crew come in on the weekend to film their special and SHE declined.
Marvin Gaye’s estate is suing the writers of the song “Blurred Lines,” saying they blatantly ripped off Marvin’s 1977 hit, “Got To Give It Up.” Robin Thicke is included in the lawsuit, but according to his sworn deposition, he had nothing to do with writing it! The Hollywood Reporter obtained transcripts of Robin’s deposition, and in it he admitted under oath that the was “jealous” and “wanted some of the credit” for writing “Blurred Lines,” but the truth is, Pharrell “wrote the whole thing pretty much by himself.” He also admitted that he was pretty much high on vicodin and alcohol when he recorded the song and for all the interviews that took place after it became a huge hit. He said, “Every day I woke up, I would take a vicodin to start the day, and then I would fill up a water bottle with vodka and drink it before and during my interviews.” When he was asked if he considers himself an honest person, Robin said, “No, that’s why I’m separated.” But when the estate attorney dug a little deeper, asking Robin if he picks and chooses when to tell the truth, he said, “Absolutely not. I told my wife the truth. That’s why she left me.”
