Vitaminwater has a challenge… Kathie Lee Gifford is leaving “Today”… Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve performances… Most Searched People of 2018… and Nicki Minaj is firing back at Jesse Palmer

Vitaminwater wants to know if it’s possible for someone to live without a cellphone for an entire year, and they’re willing to pay $100K to the person who can do it. You have to go on Twitter or Instagram and explain why you think you can give up your phone and then use #NoPhoneForAYear and #Contest by January 8 to be entered. They’re only going to choose one person to go for it, and according to the rules, “You may not physically operate, caress, hug or otherwise be physically affectionate with anyone’s smartphone.” You also can’t go near any device that can text or access the internet. They don’t say how they’re going to monitor this person, but I guess that will be revealed later. They do say a lie detector will be involved. However, if this person can make it six months, they get $10K. If they go the full year, they got a check for $100K.

Kathie Lee Gifford announced yesterday that she’s leaving her “Today” gig on April 7, 2019 which will mark her 11th year sitting next to Hoda Kotb. Kathie Lee said she has someone in mind she’d like to see take her seat, but she said, “There’s a great pool of talent and beauty and heart right around here, right within our own family. And, if they come from outside the family, they will soon become family, because you all treat everybody that way.” We have to wonder who Kathie Lee’s choice would be, and I’m guessing it’s her BFF Kris Jenner. But a lot of people think the obvious choice would be Jenna Bush Hager.

If you plan on curling up in front of the TV to ring in the New Year, you may choose to watch “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.” They start at 8pm ET on ABC, and they’ve got to fill five and a half hours so you can expect a TON of performances! Leading up to the big ball drop in Times Square, you’ll see performances by Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, Halsey, Bazzi, The Chainsmokers, Charlie Puth, Due Lipa, Foster the People, Kelsea Ballerini and MORE! Post Malone will be the first performer after the ball drops. In addition to Ryan Seacrest, Ciara, Lucy Hale and Jenny McCarthy are back to co-host.

Google is out with their Most Searched People of 2018 and Demi Lovato just beat out Meghan Markle for the top spot. Coming in third was Brett Kavanaugh, Logan Paul and Khloe Kardashian. Demi was also the Most Searched Musician, followed by Eminem, Ariana Grande, Rick Ross and Cardi B. As far as movies, we searched for info about “Black Panther” the most, followed by “Incredibles 2,” “Deadpool 2,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” and “A Quiet Place.” For TV shows, we searched “Roseanne” the most, followed by “Altered Carbon,” “The Haunting of Hill House,” “American Idol” and “Lost in Space.” And when it comes to BABY NAMES — we most wanted to know Kylie Jenner’s (Stormi), the Royal Baby (Louis), Khloe Kardashian’s baby (True), Cardi B’s baby (Kulture) and Kim Kardashian’s baby (Chicago).

TMZ is reporting that Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty are already talking marriage and babies. They’ve only been dating a few months, but Nicki and Kenny were high school sweethearts — before the age of 15 when he was convicted of the attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl and before he served 7 years for manslaughter. But Nicki reportedly believes Kenny was falsely convicted of sexual assault, and that he’s a changed man since serving time in prison. She also went on a rampage yesterday, posting a picture of Daily Mail TV host Jesse Palmer and threatening to sue him for whatever he said about her on TV.
