Weekend box office news… Fyre Festival organizers investigated… SNL loses cast members… The Billboard Music Awards… and Mariah Carey spotted kissing ex Bryan Tanaka

“Alien: Covenant” earned $36 million in its opening weekend, just enough to knock “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” down to second with its $35 million take. The new “Everything Everything” debuted in third with $12 million. “Snatched” came in fourth with $7.6 million. And the new “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” opened in fifth with $7.2 million.

Did you forget about the Fyre Festival debacle? The FBI didn’t. In addition to the stack of lawsuits filed by disgruntled festival-goers, organizers are now being investigated by the FBI for possible mail, wire and securities fraud.

After enjoying its highest ratings in 23 years, “Saturday Night Live” is losing a handful of cast members. Bobby Moynihan, who is known for doing the Drunk Uncle character as well as impressions of Guy Fieri, Ted Cruz and Snooki, is leaving after nine seasons. He’s got a new pilot on CBS called “Me, Myself & I.” After seven seasons, Vanessa Bayer is also leaving. She was most famous for her Miley Cyrus, her Rachel Green from “Friends” and her character, Jacob the Bar Mitzvah Boy. And Sasheer Zamata announced that she’s out, too. She joined the show in 2014 and did impressions of Michelle Obama, Beyonce and Rihanna. We don’t know what Vanessa and Sasheer have in the works…

Drake took home 13 Billboard Music Awards last night, breaking Adele’s old record of 12 awards in one night. Among the awards he took home were Top Rap Artist, Top Male Artist and the ultimate award of the night — Top Artist. Drake used his acceptance speeches to hit on Vanessa Hudgens, call out his dad for looking fly in his purple suit and purple shoes, and compare life to toilet paper. It was kinda funny, but too vulgar to repeat. Beyonce won Top Female Artist. Blake Shelton was the Top Country Artist. Zayn won Top New Artist. And one day after turning 71, Cher received the Icon Award and KILLED it with her performances of “Believe” and “If I Could Turn Back Time.”

What was up with Mariah Carey posting a flashback photo on Friday of her and Bryan Tanaka sharing a frozen hot chocolate?? I’ll tell you what was up! She went out to dinner later that night with her backup dancing boy toy at Wolfgang Puck’s CUT in Beverly Hills, so they could be photographed kissing and snuggling and have everybody watch while Bryan spoon-fed Mariah her dessert!!! Mariah reportedly dumped Bryan back in April because he was jealous of her relationship with Nick Cannon.
