In movie and streaming news, Despicable Me 4 earned $122.6M over extended 5-day Fourth of July holiday weekend, easily taking the No. 1 spot at the box office. When you add the international box office, globally the movie has already earned $229.5M. In other words, there’s no way they won’t be doing Despicable Me 5. Inside Out 2 fell to second with $30M, pushing it over the $1B mark. That makes this the most successful movie of 2024 SO FAR. A Quiet Place: Day One fell to third with $21M, followed by MaXXXine, which debuted in fourth with $6.7M. Bad Boys: Ride or Die rounded out the top five with $6.55M. And in streaming news, it’s been 2 years since the last new episode of Stranger Things, and it will be sometime next year before we get the fifth and final season. But according to Maya Hawke — who plays Robin — Season 5 will be 8 looooong episodes that are “basically 8 movies.” She told the Popcrushed podcast, “Season 4 and Season 5 are very connected. Season 4 had a Part I and Part II because they separated them, so the last two episodes came out at a different time, which is unusual for streaming. But this is its own season. It is a continuation, but it’s the finale.”

Justin Bieber isn’t planning a tour any time soon, but for the right price, he will come out of semi-retirement for a one-off performance. Justin reportedly got $10M to fly to Mumbai, India, on Saturday to perform at a pre-wedding concert for billionaire Anant Ambani and his bride Radhika Merchant. This is the same couple that reportedly paid Rihanna $6M to perform at another pre-wedding ceremony back in March. Justin kept it real, wearing a white tank top and a backward baseball cap with his pants hanging low and his boxer shorts on display. Never change, Justin!!!! The concert was in the Jio World Convention Center, which is where the wedding ceremony will be held this Friday.

It’s really bad timing for Justin Timberlake and Tiger Woods to announce their opening their second bar together in St. Andrews, Scotland. When they opened their first one in NYC, Tiger was the only one with a DUI record. Back in 2017, police found him asleep at the wheel and he got popped for DUI when they found 5 different drugs in his system: Vicodin, Dilaudid, Xanax, Ambien and THC. Now, going into their second joint venture, JT and TW both have records. Following the success of their NYC flagship, Billboard reports that Justin and Tiger will transform the New Picture House Cinema in St. Andrews into the next T-Squared Social, featuring “state-of-the-art sports simulators, duckpin bowling and darts while also preserving two original cinema screens – a nod to the venue’s rich history.”

Britney Spears says she is once again “single as (BLANK).” Britney’s been running around with her groundskeeper Paul Richard Soliz since her marriage to Sam Asghari ended last fall. Some think her inappropriate behavior with Paul is what ended her marriage. Now, a recent incident with a paparazzo may have been the final straw for Britney and Paul. She posted in her IG Stories, “Why was he going 90 in a neighborhood with one pap following only to roll the window down when the pap pulls to the side of me ???? Then he calls his mom and says he’s being harassed…Why did he roll the window down with me crying in the seat??” In a since-deleted caption she added, “I will never be with another man as long as I live!!!’

Barbie is having a baby! The Daily Mail caught pictures of a glowing Margot Robbie showing off her growing baby bump while vacationing with her husband Tom Ackerley in Lake Como. Margo was wearing a crop top showing off her belly as her husband gingerly helped her board a boat. This is the first child for the couple, who met in 2013 while filming the 2014 movie Suite Française, on which Tom worked as the movie’s third assistant director. In 2016, Tom and Margot were secretly married in Australia with just their immediate family as witnesses. Along with their friend Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr, Tom and Margot run LuckyChap Entertainment, the production company behind several movie projects including I, Tonya and Barbie. Next up for LuckyChap are two huge movie projects — Monopoly and The Sims!
