Conor McGregor’s civil assault claim… Michael Jackson biopic delayed… Olivia Rodrigo’s first date question… Kristin Cavallari says Britney Spears reached out… and Liam Payne’s funeral details emerge

About 3 years ago, a woman filed a civil lawsuit against Conor McGregor and his friend, James Lawrence, accusing them of sexually assaulting her after a Christmas party back in 2018. The trial finally got underway yesterday. The woman admitted that she’d been drinking and doing cocaine at her office Christmas party. She testified that a short time later, Conor picked her and her friend up and took them to a nearby hotel for what she thought was an after-party, only to be sexually assaulted by both men. Neither Conor nor James testified yesterday, but they previously have denied the assault allegations, claiming everything that took place was consensual. The trial is expected to last about two weeks.

In movie news — Lionsgate has announced that its Michael Jackson biopic Michael is being pushed back 6 months, from April 18 to October 3, 2025. Back in July, the director said he was in the process of editing the movie, but with so much ground to cover and the fact that they’re including THIRTY songs, it must be taking longer than he thought. Jermaine Jackson’s son Jaafar stars as his late uncle. Coleman Domingo and Nia Long play Michael’s parents, Joe and Katherine. Lionsgate also has another movie dropping next October. Good Fortune is a comedy starring Keanu Reeves as a well-intentioned but slightly clueless angel who intervenes int he lives of a frustrated gig worker played by Aziz Ansari and a successful venture capitalist played by Seth Rogan. In other movie news, The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Warner Bros. is exploring the idea of developing at least one film set in the Game of Thrones universe.

Olivia Rodrigo is currently dating Enola Holmes actor Louis Partridge because he passed her first-date test. Olivia told Netflix that she uses a first date to look for red flags. She said, “The biggest red flag…is a very oddly specific question that I ask guys on first dates. I always ask them if they would want to go to space. And if they say yes, I don’t date them. I just think if you want to go to space, you’re a little too full of yourself.” So Louis is either humble or afraid of heights, but either way, he got the girl. During that same interview, Olivia revealed that Sex and the City is one of her favorite shows, and she is definitely Team Aidan and NOT Team Big. In fact, Olivia said, “Mr. Big sucks. But we’ve all dated guys like that. You can’t let them go. But yeah, Aidan for the win.” Olivia’s Guts World Tour is now streaming on Netflix.

A few weeks ago, Kristin Cavallari made headlines for thinking that the Kanye and Britney Spears we see today are actually clones. Kristin isn’t the only one who thinks that, at least, about Britney. Well! In the latest episode of her Let’s Be Honest podcast, Kristen revealed that Britney not only heard about the clone theory, she and her manager texted her about it! Kristin admitted she was scared at first, thinking they didn’t like what she’d said. But they actually had a great exchange. She said, “Her manager puts us on a group chat and . . . called us icons, two icons coming together…Then Britney sent me a text and I’m not going to read it. I would love to read it. Just take my word. It’s a bit of a roller coaster.” Apparently, Britney said something about hanging out with Kristin next time she was in LA, and that’s when Kristin decided to text Britney directly. She texted, “‘Hey, I’m hardly in L.A. anymore, but when I come in December, I’ll let you know’…and then she just never (BLANKING) responded!” And now, Kristin says she absolutely believes Britney is a clone! She said, “Because to me, now it was all bulls***, which I thought from the jump. I was like, this does not seem genuine to me. And now you just proved my point. You’re not trying to like hang out and be a buddy. You’re just trying to shut me the (BLANK) up because I’m obviously on to something!”

On October 16, Liam Payne died after falling off the balcony of his hotel room at the CasaSur Palermo in Buenos Aires. Two days later, his body was taken in by the British cemetery in Buenos Aires while an investigation into the circumstances around Liam’s death began. The initial autopsy results showed a large amount of drugs in his system, including a concoction called “pink cocaine,” which typically combines meth, ecstasy and ketamine. And a hotel video shows that Liam apparently passed out and fell over the balcony, and that head injuries caused his death. MailOnline has learned the paperwork that will allow Liam’s body to be returned to the UK has been completed, and once his body is back on home soil, funeral details will be announced. Their source said, “Liam will have a very big send off, quite probably at a large cathedral somewhere close to his heart.” Meantime, Argentinian police are continuing their investigation into Liam’s death. In late October, they carried out a a wave of raids at the CasSur hotel, seizing electronic and paper records as well as videos of the hotel’s underground area. Officers conducted another round of raids last night, searching workers’ lockers and reviewing security footage. MailOnline also said officers used text messages from Liam’s cell phone to identify a “friend” who helped facilitate the drug transaction, but they reportedly didn’t find this “friend” when they raided his home last night. So far, police have not arrested or charged anyone in the case, but it looks like they’re getting closer.
