TV news… Freddie Mercury auction… Jamie Foxx update… “Love Is Blind” rumors… and Glen Powell & Gigi Paris have broken up

Listen to “Showbiz – Apr 27, 2023” on Spreaker.

A bunch of trailers dropped yesterday. Netflix gave us a sneak peak of the long-awaited, highly-anticipated return of “Black Mirror.” Season 6 is back in June, we just don’t know exactly when. The trailer promises, “You’ve been waiting / You’ve been warned,” and what I saw was very disturbing. Netflix also dropped the trailer for Season 3 of “The Witcher,” which gives us a peak into Henry Cavill’s final season. Season 3 will be released in two parts, with Vol. 1 dropping June 29, followed by Vol.2 on July 27. HBO Max has also released the Season 2 trailer of “And Just Like That.” A the end of the trailer, Carrie says in voiceover, “And just like that, I realized that some things are better left in the past. But maybe not everything.” And then we see Aidan Shaw — played by John Corbett — walking up to Carrie’s doorstep. It’s also coming in June, but we don’t have a specific date on that. The trailer for Megan Fox’s new movie “Johnny & Clyde” was released yesterday. It comes out May 5 in theaters and on demand. This is loosely inspired by the real-life Bonnie and Clyde. In this one, Johnny and Clyde are a madly-in-love couple of serial killers who go on a crime spree and make the mistake of targeting a casino owned by a crime boss, played by Megan.

A new generation was introduced to the genius of Freddie Mercury thanks to Rami Malek’s Oscar-winning performance in “Bohemian Rhapsody.” If you saw the movie, you know about his extremely close relationship with Mary Austin. Freddie and Mary started dating before he was famous and eventually became engaged. That obviously didn’t work out, but Freddie always said Mary was the love of his life. He once said, “All my lovers asked me why they couldn’t replace Mary, but it’s simply impossible. The only friend I’ve got is Mary, and I don’t want anybody else. To me, she was my common-law wife. To me, it was a marriage.” So when Freddie died in 1991, he left Mary half of his reported $75M estate, including the 28-room mansion in London where he passed away. Mary continues to live in that mansion until this day, and she’s pretty much left it untouched. But Mary says she has reached the difficult decision to sell Freddie’s extensive and eclectic collection of art, furniture, costumes, and even handwritten lyrics. More than 1500 items from his private collection will be on exhibit for a month, and then sold at six different London auctions over three days in September. Freddie’s things are expected to fetch at least $7.5M, with a portion of the proceeds going to charity.

Nick Cannon gave “Entertainment Tonight” an update on Jamie Foxx. On April 12, Jamie suffered what his daughter called a “medical complication,” but we still don’t know what that means. But when asked, Nick said, “I know he’s doing so much better because I’m actually about to do something special for him and doing him a favor. I can’t really say what it is, but it’ll be out there soon. I “was reluctant to go all the way there, and even talk about it, but he game me the blessing, so it’s a beautiful thing. He’s awake. They say he’s alert, so we love it.”

After the most recent “Love Is Blind” reunion, hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey got slammed on social media, with Vanessa taking the brunt of it. People just didn’t like Vanessa’s invasive questions, especially about wanting the couples to start making babies NOW. Someone even started an online petition to have the Lacheys fired as hosts, and that’s when rumors started that Season 1 couple and fan favorites Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton were in the running to replace them. But according to Daily Mail, Nick and Vanessa aren’t going anywhere. Their source said while the two of them aren’t quick on their feet when it comes to reunions, they are “fabulous when it comes to interacting with the studio higher-ups and Netflix executives.”

A few days after she unfollowed Sydney Sweeney, Gigi Paris has now unfollowed Glen Powell. Shortly after she clicked that button, Gigi posted a not-so-cryptic video of her flirty self walking down the sidewalk, captioning it, “Know you’re worth & onto the next.” Now reports are coming out that Glen and Gigi actually broke up a few weeks ago and it was amicable. Reportedly, Gigi flew to Australia to visit Glen on the set of “Anyone But You” — the rom-com he’s filming with Sydney. A source to “People” that Glen isn’t able to make Gigi a priority when he’s filming and she’s not into long-distance dating, so the two of them agreed it was best to break up.
