Chelsea Clinton welcomed her first child… FKA Twigs bombarded with vile messages… Usher’s world tour ticket sales… Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini in car accident… and George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin are married
Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton and her millionaire banker husband Marc Mezvinsky welcomed their first child on Friday. Chelsea tweeted, “Marc and I are full of love, awe and gratitude as we celebrate the birth of our daughter, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky.” Since the couple decided to keep the baby’s sex a surprise, they decorated the nursery with gender-neutral elephants. Mom happens to be passionate about elephant conservation. Also on Friday, Snooki gave birth to a daughter named Giovanna Marie LaValle. She and her fiance Jionni have a 2-year-old son named Lorenzo.
FKA Twigs is finding out the hard way what it’s like to date a super famous person. Before she was FKA Twigs, she was Tahliah Debrett Barnett, a British girl with a dream who worked as a backup dancer and is now a singer. Her debut album was released last month and is already receiving award nominations. But right now, she’s most famous for dating Robert Pattinson, and she’s suffering the social media backlash. FKA Twigs has been has been bombarded with some pretty vile messages and she finally had enough, tweeting yesterday, “I am genuinely shocked and disgusted at the amount of racism that has been infecting my account the past week. Racism is unacceptable in the real world and it’s unacceptable online.”
Ticket sales for Usher’s world tour aren’t exactly breaking box office records. In fact, sources say most of the venues for “The UR Experience” have PLENTY of seats available. One source says sales will be fine in the big cities, like NY, LA, Chicago and Toronto. But tickets in other markets are selling so poorly that promoter Live Nation may lose $5 million. The tour kicks off in Quebec on November 1 and wraps up in Tampa on December 14.
Jennifer Lopez and her BFF Leah Remini piled their kids in the car and headed to Demi Lovato’s concert at the Staples Center Saturday night. As they were stopped at a red light on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, they were rear-ended by a hit-and-run drunk driver. Jennifer posted about it on Instagram, writing, “Riding high right before some drunk fool rear ended us in my new whip.” They called 911 and officers were able to stop the drunk driver. Like I said, JLo’s 6-year-old twins, Max and Emme, and Leah’s 10-year-old daughter, Sofia, were all in the back seat. Fortunately, everyone in the car was uninjured and I’m guessing they all still made it to Demi’s concert, where I’m sure they were excited to see some surprise guest performers, — Demi’s ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas and Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker.
It’s official! George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin are married. They had a private symbolic ceremony in Venice Saturday night in front of close to 100 guests. Among the famous faces in the crowd were Matt Damon, Bill Murray, Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber, Anna Wintour, Bono, John Krasinski, Emily Blunt and Ellen Barkin. Rumored best man Brad Pitt was a no-show, as was his wife, Angelina Jolie. His buddy Sandra Bullock couldn’t make it but she sent a message that was read to the wedding party at the celebration afterward. Like I said, Saturday night’s ceremony was symbolic. The legal paperwork making the marriage official took place in Venice today.
