“Grotesquerie” update… Jelly Roll plans to seek forgiveness… A$AP Rocky’s trial… Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs faces new lawsuits… and Cardi B slams prank caller
On Episode 4 of Grotesquerie, Travis Kelce’s character, Ed Lachlan, helps Niecy Nash-Betts’ character, Lois Tryon, escape from the hospital, and the two of them speed off in a red convertible. Swifties were quick to catch it and now Ryan Murphy has confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that yes, that was “a little Taylor Swift nod” and her 2017 song Getaway Car. I didn’t catch that. I thought it was when Travis took Taylor for a ride through Kansas City in his convertible after a Chiefs game last year.

Jelly Roll made his first trip to juvenile detention when he was 13, which was the beginning of an extensive rap sheet. On Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, Jelly Roll was looking back on all of his arrests, including one for an armed robbery that he committed when he was only 15. Jelly Roll said the family he robbed is on his “amends list.” He said, “I’ve thought about reaching out. This has been 24 years ago now, and I just don’t know how that would even start, you know…how I would go about it. Because sometimes I wonder if they might have even seen me in passing or are aware of my success…I would just ask them to understand, I would ask them to just, one, forgive me, because there’s no excuse in that. The first accountability is, no matter how old I was, I had no business taking from anybody. Just the entitlement that I had, this, the world owed me enough that I could come take your stuff.” Looking back as a 39-year-old now, Jelly Roll said, “I don’t know what I was even trying to be when I look back now. This is how I know I was 15 because the more when I try to make logic of it, I can’t. There was no logic to what I did. It made absolutely no sense. And I learned so much from it and the way that I interact with people.” Jelly Roll also said his victims would see how much he’s changed and that “money doesn’t create character, it reveals it.”

Without much fanfare, A$AP Rocky’s trial for an alleged shooting from 3 years ago started yesterday. Back in November 2021, the LAPD said some acquaintances got into an altercation in Hollywood that led to one of the men pulling out a semi-automatic weapon and firing twice, striking the victim, who suffered minor injuries requiring medical treatment. During their investigation, detectives determined the gunman was A$AP Rocky and August 2022, officers were waiting for him at LAX when he returned from vacation in Barbados with Rihanna. He has pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic weapon. If he’s found guilty on all counts, he faces up to 24 years in prison.

Over the weekend, seven more people filed lawsuits against Diddy, including one who claims she was only 13 when Diddy and another celebrity raped her while a female celebrity watched. Diddy’s lawyers are now asking a judge to order potential witnesses and their lawyers to stop making statements like these because it’s jeopardizing his right to a fair trial. Meantime, his lawyers are still trying to get him out on bail pending his trail, when is set to begin on May 5, 2025. Meantime Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie — who got the ball rolling on Diddy’s downfall with her lawsuit last November — reportedly wants to make a comeback in the music industry. Way back in 2006, her self-titled album and single Me & U were a huge hit, and she did a few acting gigs after that. But Cassie has kept an extremely low profile since freeing herself from Diddy’s grasp in 2018. However, when the dust settles from his upcoming trial, sources say she’s ready to sing again.

Cardi B says she’s been sick in the hospital since Saturday, but she was so furious about being prank called that she jumped on Instagram Live threatening to beat up the person who did it — once she finds out who it is. Cardi claims someone called CPS to report that her three children were being beaten and abused, which led to police and CPS showing up at her house at 11pm when her children were sound asleep. Cardi said this prankster took it too far when he or she involved her kids, and she swears she’s going to find out who did it. Cardi said she’s going to hire the best private investigator in the country a private investigator to track them down. Then she said, “You wanna know what I’m gonna do? I’m not even pressing charges on you. If you’re a boy, my baby father is gonna beat you the (BLANK) up. If you’re a woman, me and (my sister) Hennessy are gonna beat you the (BLANK) up because you playing with my (BLANKETY-BLANKING) kids.”
