Lots happening with the Doctor yesterday…don’t you love the first few months of a relationship where it’s all Oreos and milk. I mean in the first 2-3 months, no one can do any wrong. Then something always seems to happen around that 90-day mark and one of two things happen. Either you get past that bump in the road. Or everything falls apart.

Well. We definitely have not made it to that point yet.

BUT, we have made it to New Orleans. Well, we will this weekend. Why? No good reason. I actually had a friend coming to town this weekend but she cancelled at the last minute. And since I already had travel plans on the brain, I asked the doctor to go on a date…in New Orleans. She has never been. This is one of those things that I have always kind of wanted to do. The out of town dinner date. She gets off work at 6pm on Friday. I’ll pick her up from her house 30 minutes later and we’ll head straight to the airport. Then to the hotel right on bourbon street. We’ll drop the bags and then hit the Quarter for dinner, some drinks, some music while we bar hop, then we’ll hopefully get a few hours of sleep before we wake up and hop back on the plane to head back home. That’s a cool date!

It was impromptu but she even met the folks last night. It was my dad’s birthday and I was planning on us all getting together on Wednesday since my dad had a doctor’s appointment but my sister had other plans. So while doc and I were chillin, sis called me and said come on over now. So I took the doctor with me. And I will say that she has great bedside manner. Sometimes you introduce a person to your folks and they don’t talk a lot. Maybe because they are a little afraid. Maybe a little intimidated. Or for whatever reason, they just are a little stand offish. Not her. Before we left, she was even washing a few of my parent’s dishes. They got along great and were talking and laughing like they have known each other for years. Like I said, during the first few months, everything is right in a relationship. Not that I’m being negative but I have been burned in the past. So, I will live in the moment but at the same time, I will be a little bit cautious!
